MEET YOUR THERAPIST
Hello!
My name is Taylor Owens, a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate from Louisville, Kentucky. After graduating high school I moved to Nashville,Tennessee where I attended Tennessee State university and received my bachelors in psychology. I then went on to attend Trevecca Nazarene where I received my Masters of Art in Clinical Mental Health counseling. I have many years of experience in working in residential facilities, group homes, Recovery centers and psychiatric hospitals servicing many different populations and demographics.
MY BACKGROUND
When it comes to life in general, I believe it is important for us all to remember that no two people have the same story. Having the ability to own your story is the bravest thing a person can do. I enjoy creating a safe space that validates both you and your experiences. Empowering you in a way that allows you to discover the strength that is within you.It is my goal to collaboratively work with clients that may be struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma, life changes, self esteem, and identity issues. I use a mindfulness based approach, but do consider myself an eclectic clinician, choosing not to restrict myself to one model, understanding that the most important thing is finding an approach that meets the needs of the client.
Mental health is not a destination, but a process. It's about how you drive, not where you're going. I not only look forward to joining you, but also express gratitude allowing me to aid you on that journey!
